Amanda B. - Hello! I am currently an assistant teacher here at the Preschool as well as a group leader at our afterschool program. I recently graduated from MCLA with a degree in Sociology and minors in both Women Studies and Anthropology. My Love for working with children started back in high school when I worked as an assistant teacher at the Williams College daycare. For nine years, I worked as a nanny for two wonderful little boys here in town and finally found my place here at the Williamstown Community Preschool just over a year ago. I love getting to know each and every child’s unique personality and watching them grow throughout their time here at the preschool. In my free time, I love hiking with my dogs, going to Cape Cod in the summer, singing and spending time with my family and friends. I am currently working towards becoming a lead teacher here at the school and would love to eventually have my own classroom. I am looking forward to meeting all of you!
Amanda M. - I spent the majority of my childhood living in Williamstown. I attended Broad Brook Elementary and graduated from MGRHS in 1988. I earned my bachelors degrees in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from MCLA in 1998. I began working at WCP in August of 1998, so I am approaching my 17th year here. I have worked with all age groups, from infant to school age. I am currently a lead teacher in the Panda room.
Amanda L. - I have been working at Williamstown Community Preschool for 9 years. I am currently a lead teacher in the Bear Room and the school's Education Coordinator and I love being a part of the WCP community. I received my bachelors degree in Sociology from Fitchburg State College and I obtained my Lead Preschool Teacher certification through the Department of Early Education and Care. I grew up in Adams, MA and currently live with my family in Hancock, MA. I enjoy kayaking and snowshoeing throughout the Berkshires
Amy - I am a lead teacher in the Bunny Room. I have worked at WCP for over twenty six years. In that time, I have seen many children grow and blossom. I am truly proud to be a part of this preschool. I have a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University. I have two adult daughters. One lives and works in Florida and the other is a sophomore in college. I live in Williamstown with my husband Steve, dog Baxter, and cats Tasha and Aash.
Becky - I began working in the office at Williamstown Community Preschool in June 2016. Presently, I am also a researcher and co-editor of a bi-monthly report focused on current economic, political, and international conditions and their effects on the stock market. I have an Associate’s Degree in Marketing from Mt. Ida College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from MCLA. I live in Adams with my husband of 22 years, Andy, and our two teenage daughters, Ashton and Megan. In our spare time Andy and I buy distressed properties and fix them up to resell. I enjoy watching my girls play sports, reading, walking and traveling.
Cindy - I have been at WCP for 27 years. I started out as the cook, but realized that I wanted to be a teacher, so I took the required classes I needed to be a teacher. I have been in the Puffin Room since the day it opened almost 4 years ago. Working with toddlers is by far my favorite age to work with. I don’t think of the Puffins as just kids in my room; they are in my heart. I live in Williamstown and have a 32-year-old son. I am currently involved with a local non-profit that my family started 3 years ago, PopCares Inc.
Cari - I enjoyed my time in the Puffin classroom and now am gaining valuable experience with the preschool children. I am a floating teacher throughout all classrooms at Williamstown Community preschool. I graduated from Berkshire Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and transferred to Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a minor in Social Work. During my educational years, I completed several practicums, working with children from kindergarten through sixth grade. At another preschool facility I was a floater going from room to room gaining experience with children of all ages. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and friends. I enjoy walking, hiking, and campfires during the cool summer nights. I am an animal lover and have rescued five animals over the last several years. We took in three cats and two dogs and there was truly never a dull moment when I was home. I will soon celebrate my two-year anniversary at WCP. It has been a challenging and rewarding experience.
Heather - I am a lead teacher in the Bear room. I started working at the preschool in April 2013 as a floater, though it feels like I've been part of the WCP family for much longer! I live in North Adams with my husband Ryan and our very spoiled cat Mazie. I graduated from MCLA double majoring in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. In September 2014 I got married at Jiminy Peak and in January 2015 we bought our first house! I absolutely love being a new homeowner, and in my free time I enjoy gardening, decorating, shopping, and spending time with family.
Jessica W. - I joined the WCP staff as a floating assistant teacher in the summer of 2016 to gain additional experience with children as I was finishing up my degree from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA). I graduated from school in December 2016 with a Bachelor's in Sociology as well as minors in Child and Family Studies, Women's Studies, and Social Work. During my time at MCLA, I held several part time-jobs and internships at preschools and elementary schools throughout Berkshire County, working as an assistant teacher, a social worker, and developing new science curriculum for North Adams Public Schools. I have always had a strong passion for working with children of all ages, because teaching kids is an incredibly rewarding experience. In the Fall of 2017, I am going back to school to get my Master's degree in Social Work, so that I may become a Social Worker at an elementary school or at a children's hospital. Helping children learn healthy social and emotional skills is critical for their well-being, and this is a core value that is very important to me. Aside from the preschool, I have held a part-time job at Berkshire Medical Center since 2011, working in the Dietary and Transport departments. During my free time, I love to be outdoors hiking, kayaking, walking my dog, or relaxing by a fire on a summer night. Although I have not been at WCP for very long, I love my position already and enjoy watching the children grow from day to day.
Kailey - I have been working at Williamstown Community Preschool since September of 2014. Before coming to the Community Preschool I worked with special needs children as a 1:1 teacher helping them with daily tasks. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Liberal in North Adams in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. I have been working with children for about eight years and have loved every moment of my career. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and my cat Mittens. In my spare time I love to take time in my hobbies such as running and coming up with new cooking recipes.
Kathy - Known to the kids as Nonie, I have been at WCP for 10 years. Prior to this, I worked at Hobson's Choice Restaurant for 17 years. I am Serve Safe and Allergy Awareness Training Certified. In my free time I love spending my days with my friends and family, which includes my grandchildren. My husband and I enjoy relaxing, gardening and swimming at our seasonal campsite in Lake George, NY. I also love and adore all of my various pets. They are after all, my family too!
Kristy - I grew up in Adams and currently own a home in North Adams. In 2009, I started my Associates in Early Childhood Education and worked as a math tutor for first graders and a teacher's assistant in a Kindergarten classroom. In 2010, I was a Lead Preschool Teacher for two years until I decided to join the great staff here at Williamstown Community Preschool in September 2012! I graduated from Berkshire Community College with my Associates and am currently looking into UMASS for my Bachelors. I work mainly in the Bear and Tiger classrooms, though I do float to other rooms when needed and always look forward to the little ones smiles and funny things they have to say. In the summer I run the school age program, Camp Discovery. I took a semester of American Sign Language and enjoy using it at work with the children. I enjoy basketball and own a longboard, which I ride every now and then. One day I hope to become a Volunteer Firefighter and a foster parent.
LISA - I started working summers at Williamstown Community Preschool in July of 2009. After graduating from UMass Amherst with a degree in Psychology and minor in Education, I began working full-time, floating between classrooms, in September of 2011. I currently work in the Lamb Room with Sally and really enjoy the 3-4 year old age group. I decided to study education after working at after-school programs and summer camps throughout middle and high school and learning that working with children and their families was what I truly loved to do. I really enjoy the sense of community at WCP, from the friendly families to friendships developed between staff members. While not at WCP, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking, and shopping!
Nicole - I am a teacher in the Bunny room I started working in the summer of 2015 as a substitute teacher and instantly fell in love with this profession. I am still attending school at BCC, and even though I haven’t been here for too long I feel as if I have always been a part of the WCP family. During my time, as a substitute I had the opportunity to work in every classroom but the Bunny room has always been my favorite. I have grown up and still currently live in North Adams, MA with my cat Smalls.
